Our Approaches To Anxiety Counselling & Therapy
We support individuals experiencing anxiety through personalised counselling and psychotherapy that prioritises trust, safety, and collaboration.
Providing Safe & Confidential Environment
Your emotional safety is central to our work. We provide a quiet, private space where you are respected, heard, and supported—free from judgment or pressure—so you can share openly at your own pace.
Professional Psychotherapists & Counsellors
Our therapists are trained to support individuals experiencing anxiety through a client-centred approach. We work with you to build trust, understand your concerns, and move forward at a pace that feels manageable.
Evidence-Based Practices
We draw on established therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy and exposure-based methods. These help you understand thought patterns, manage responses, and gradually develop coping strategies that support daily living.
How Psychotherapy for Anxiety Works
Living with anxiety can feel overwhelming, especially when it starts to affect how you think, relate to others, or manage daily routines. At Care Alliance Counselling, we approach psychotherapy as a gentle, respectful process that helps you explore what’s beneath the anxiety—at your own pace and in your own way. It’s not about fixing you. It’s about walking alongside you as you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and gradually begin to respond to them differently.
We work with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which focuses on how your thoughts and behaviours influence how you feel, or Exposure Therapy, which carefully supports you in facing anxiety-provoking situations in manageable steps. These approaches are always adapted to fit your needs—not the other way around.
Psychotherapy sessions are carried out by licensed, trauma-informed professionals who prioritise safety, trust, and open dialogue. You're not expected to have it all figured out before you arrive. We'll meet you where you are.

What Our Clients Say
I have been consulting with Grace from Care Alliance for a few months now. I have seen a huge improvement in my ability to handle difficult situations. What I really like about Grace is that she does not give textbook solutions and explains each strategy that she teaches me including how it is going to help me. She listens to me and gives me tailored methods to deal with my issues. I am now in a very positive situation and able to analyze my issues and deal with it in very specific ways that are very effective. The one thing that she told me resonates with me, she said that I should learn to have empathy for myself, which I did not even think about or know about.
Thank you Grace
Lily is by far one the better counsellors I have met so far. She’s empathetic, listens actively and shows understanding in the issues I’m facing. It can be hard to counsel me, or even try different modalities on me, but Lily takes time to explain to me the different modalities used and challenge some of my fixated ideas. I’m very glad to have her as my therapist 🫶🏽 I’m making progress good progress so far, so yeah highly recommend her service. Thank you Lily!
Grace has been a joy to work with. I used to think that therapy would be daunting, but with Grace's expertise and guidance, the healing journey has rewarding one.
Thank you for helping me learn more about myself in the process while undoing my past baggages.

Understanding Anxiety Disorders
Navigating and managing the challenges of anxiety can be overwhelming, especially when faced alone. At Care Alliance Counselling, we recognise the unique pressures that individuals endure, leading to stress and anxiety that can disrupt daily life and work relationships. Our goal is to help you find balance and strengthen your connections with those around you, fostering a safe environment for your mental health journey.
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety often manifests as a deep sense of unease and apprehension about future events, significantly more intense than the normal nervousness experienced before important milestones. It can become overwhelming, impacting daily functioning with its excessive and persistent nature. In Singapore, recent studies have shown that about 10% of the population grapples with anxiety and depression, with a particularly high incidence among youths aged 15 to 35, where nearly a third experience ongoing feelings of emptiness and chronic distress. This data underscores the critical need for accessible, empathetic support to navigate these challenges effectively.
Causes & Triggers of Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety does not arise in isolation—it is often the result of a dynamic interplay between biological, environmental, and medical factors that can vary greatly from one individual to another. Biologically, our bodies may react to stress with a heightened neurological response, which, for some, can lead to persistent anxiety. This is often due to imbalances in neurotransmitters like Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which helps regulate our feelings of calm and relaxation. When GABA levels are low, it can feel as though there's no brake on our body's stress response, leaving us in a state of heightened anxiety. Environmentally, the situations we encounter play a significant role. Major life events such as career changes or even global uncertainties can challenge our sense of stability and safety, triggering anxiety. Medically, conditions such as thyroid imbalances or cardiovascular issues can manifest symptoms of anxiety, making it important to consider a holistic health perspective when addressing anxiety symptoms.
Signs & Symptoms of Anxiety Disorders
Everyone experiences anxiety differently, but if you're feeling overwhelmed, it may be helpful to understand some of the common signs:
• Persistent Worry: Feeling constantly on edge with a level of concern that feels difficult to manage?
• Sleep Challenges: Are restless nights and difficulty sleeping becoming the norm?
• Feeling Tense: Do you often feel tense, wound up, or find it hard to relax?
• Physical Signs: Anxiety can also show up in your body. Notice if you experience a rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, nausea, or muscle tension.
• Changes in Your Day-to-Day: Has anxiety started to affect your work, relationships, or daily routines? These signs are your mind and body's way of letting you know that you might need some extra support. At Care Alliance Counselling, we understand the impact these symptoms can have on your life, and we're here to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore these challenges and find ways to regain balance and peace.
Types of Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders manifest in various forms, each with distinct characteristics.
• Panic Disorder: Characterised by sudden, intense episodes of fear that trigger severe physical reactions without any apparent cause. These panic attacks can include symptoms such as palpitations, sweating, and feelings of doom, often leaving individuals feeling out of control.
• Specific Phobias: This disorder involves an irrational and overwhelming fear of specific objects or situations. Common phobias include fear of heights, flying, or certain animals. Exposure to the phobia triggers acute distress, possibly leading to avoidance behaviour that can disrupt daily life.
• Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Characterised by chronic, exaggerated worry about everyday routines, this disorder can cause physical symptoms like fatigue, tension, and sleep disturbance, affecting one’s ability to function.
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): OCD is marked by persistent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours (compulsions). These compulsions, such as repeated hand-washing, are often performed in hopes of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away.
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Typically triggered by a traumatic event, PTSD is characterised by severe anxiety, flashbacks, and intrusive memories of the event, leading to significant emotional distress.
• Social Anxiety Disorder: This involves overwhelming anxiety and excessive self-consciousness in everyday social situations.
