Meet Grace Phoon

Clinical Director/ Psychotherapist

“As a psychotherapist, my commitment lies in helping individuals navigate life's challenges and overcome obstacles. In my practice, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance, recognizing that a trusting relationship is foundational for positive outcomes. That’s why I take the time to get to know each of my clients and create a safe, non-judgmental space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings.
I continuously seek to expand my knowledge of therapeutic modalities and integrate diverse tools and techniques into my practice. This ensures that I provide a comprehensive and adaptable approach that resonates with the diverse needs of those I work with.”

I am certified in EMDR.

I am a certified therapist in Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing (EMDR), a clinically proven psychotherapy approach extensively researched for its efficacy in trauma treatment. Holding a Master’s degree in Counselling, I have been a dedicated Clinical Member of the Singapore Association for Counselling since 2016.
My commitment to advancing trauma therapy is evident through my active involvement as a Committee Member with EMDR Singapore from 2018 to 2020. In addition to EMDR, I am trained in Brainspotting, a therapeutic technique utilizing spots in a person's visual field to facilitate trauma processing.

My training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps clients with Borderline Personality Disorder to manage painful emotions and interpersonal conflicts.

I am also an accredited facilitator for the Prepare/Enrich Marriage Program and Taylor-Johnson’s Temperament Analysis (T-JTA ®), which is a widely used personality assessment for individual, pre-marital, and marital counselling as well as a certified trainer with ACLP.

I have experience counselling in the church and has conducted mental health and self-care workshops and facilitated divorce support groups.

Some of my experiences include conducting counselling courses for the church’s lay leaders to equip them to become better people helpers. Prior to counselling work, I had over a decade of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. This has helped me empathize with the stress and anxiety that the corporate world entails.

I have extensive experience working with individuals suffering from depression/mood disorders, anxiety, trauma/abuse, divorce, infidelity, family conflict, relationship issues, self-harming, suicidal ideations, and grief.

My therapeutic style involves helping you arrive at insight and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive changes in your life.  It is important that you are making progress on the goals that you have set for yourself. I will be there to guide you, and encourage you, as you embark on this journey together.
